There are three different types of harps. The "classical harp" most
commonly called a "pedal harp" (due to the seven pedals on the base
of the harp), and the Irish harp or "folk harp" which is much smaller than
the pedal harp are the two most commonly performed harps in the
United States. The third harp is the latin style harp used in the Central
and South Americas.
Ms. Smith plays and teaches both the pedal and folk harps.
